SSH Troubleshooting

1) There's a connection timeout

This is a security group issue. Any timeout (not just for SSH) is related to security groups or a firewall. Ensure your security group looks like this and correctly assigned to your EC2 instance.

2) There's still a connection timeout issue

If your security group is properly configured as above, and you still have connection timeout issues, then that means a corporate firewall or a personal firewall is blocking the connection. Please use EC2 Instance Connect as described in the next lecture.

3) SSH does not work on Windows

• If it says: ssh command not found, that means you have to use Putty

• Follow again the video. If things don't work, please use EC2 Instance Connect as described in the next lecture

4) There's a connection refused

This means the instance is reachable, but no SSH utility is running on the instance

• Try to restart the instance

• If it doesn't work, terminate the instance and create a new one. Make sure you're using Amazon Linux 2

5)  Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic)

This means either two things:

• You are using the wrong security key or not using a security key. Please look at your EC2 instance configuration to make sure you have assigned the correct key to it.

• You are using the wrong user. Make sure you have started an Amazon Linux 2 EC2 instance, and make sure you're using the user ec2-user. This is something you specify when doing ec2-user@<public-ip> (ex: ec2-user@35.180.242.162) in your SSH command or your Putty configuration

6) Nothing is working - "aaaahhhhhh"

Don't panic. Use EC2 Instance Connect from the next lecture. Make sure you started an Amazon Linux 2 and you will be able to follow along with the tutorial :)

7) I was able to connect yesterday, but today I can't

This is probably because you have stopped your EC2 instance and then started it again today. When you do so, the public IP of your EC2 instance will change. Therefore, in your command, or Putty configuration, please make sure to edit and save the new public IP.

About EBS Multi-Attach

About EBS Multi-Attach

While I say that in the previous lecture that EBS volumes cannot be attached to multiple instances, I know it is not true for io1 and io2 volume types: this is called the EBS Multi-Attach feature.

From an AWS Cloud Practitioner exam perspective this out of scope for the exam.
In order to keep the course simple and accessible, I have left out this feature from the course.

If you are curious to learn about EBS Multi-Attach, you will find it in the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate course, or in the AWS documentation.

BOOLTZMANN, PAUL EHRENFEST, LA FISICA ESTADISTICA Y LA DEPRESION

  

La Fisica Estadística que creó Booltzman permitió llegar por vez primera en las propiedades fundamentales y eso no es sencillo para la mente humana, porque te das cuenta de que has llegado a una parte fundamental del designio de Dios o la existencia, o la naturaleza, y te das cuenta que es tremendamente brutal y tremendamente negra y fría, que no le importa los más mínimo los humanos y sus designios y que va a actuar conforme a unas leyes fundamentales que se han probado totalmente y que van a ir hasta sus últimas consecuencias sin importar nada más que el fin último del desintegramiento total de todo.

 

Esto está metido intrínsecamente en la fisica estadística, es por eso que es tan difícil manejarla,  yo trabaje un tiempo a un nivel profundo de fisica estadística y termine con un desgaste mental importante, aunado a que estaba pasando por un tema personal en ese momento pues si caí en un problema depresivo muy fuerte.

 

Quien realmente ha indagado en las profundidades de la fisica, a un nivel realmente que te permita comprender los fundamentos de la naturaleza y Dios, ha sido Booltzman.

 

Puedo por eso hablar de lo que pudo haber pasado Boltzmann que fue cayendo en una espiral depresiva importante. Mi teoría es que se dio cuenta a nivel fundamental que todo está jodido que la segunda ley de la termodinámica es real y que todo está jodido y que todo va para el desgaste y rápidamente,  y debido a que era súper inteligente, pudo darse cuenta de esa parte obscura,  incluso su consciencia aumento debido a este conocimiento nuevo se daba cuenta de cosas y fenómenos que no son visibles a la gente que está dormida y que no los ve.

 

Todo esto fue generando un shock tremendo en la mente de Boltzmann, y no solamente de él, también Paul Ehrenfest, 

 

 Las matemáticas y en especial la fisica no son materias fáciles de trabajar, ya que exigen un alto nivel de dedicación y de especialización, incluso de esfuerzos y desvelos inhumanos,  NO HABLO DE LOS FISICOS MEDIOCRES,  que realmente nunca llegaran a vislumbrar eso. Ya que son mediocres

Esa tarde de verano, al ver que su teoría era cierta y que tenía que luchar con físicos mediocres que no la comprendían y que nunca lo harían, Boltzmann decide quitarse la vida ahorcándose en la casa de veraneo, que se supone había rentado junto a su familia para pasar una buena tarde, termino siendo su última morada.

 

Lo mismo creo que sucedió a Paul Ehrenfest su biografía no ha sido tan desarrollada, tal vez por el trágico final, incluso más trágico que el de Boltzmann, ya que el termino asesinando cruelmente a su hijo que tenía síndrome de Down, antes de quitarse la vida.

 

Sin embargo Ehrenfest para nada era un físico mediocre era gran físico que iba siempre hacia el concepto fundamental y que entendía como pocos de lo que se trataba la fisica estadística, eso fue llevándolo a la espiral similar a la de Boltzman.

 

Intrínsecamente la Fisica estadística implica que los gases y todo objeto están compuesto por millones y millones de átomos, que interaccionan siguiendo leyes específicas de estadística y fisica.

 

Es aún muy admirable Einstein que conociendo también esos conceptos y ese conocimiento incluso más profundo aunque en otras áreas no se haya vuelto loco.

Paul Ehrenfest

Paul Ehrenfest (18-1-1880 - 25-9-1933), fue un físico y matemático austriaco, obtuvo la nacionalidad holandesa el 24 de marzo de 1922. Sus principales contribuciones se produjeron en el campo de la Física estadística y su relación con la mecánica cuántica y también la teoría de Cambio de estado y el teorema de Ehrenfest. En diciembre de 1904, contrajo matrimonio con la matemática rusa Tatyana Alexeyevna Afanasyeva (1876–1964), que se convirtió en una de sus colaboradoras. Tuvieron dos hijas y dos hijos: Tatyana (1905-1984), que también se convirtió en matemática, Galinka (1910-1979) ilustradora de libros para niños, Paul Jr. (1915-1939) físico y Vassily (1918-1933). Sumido en una grave depresión, se suicidó en 1933, el mismo día en que acabó con la vida de su hijo Vassily, que padecía sindrome de Down.

Paul Epstein

Paul Epstein (Frankfurt, July 24, 1871 – Dornbusch, August 11, 1939) was a German mathematician. He is known for his contributions to number theory, in particular the Epstein zeta function.

Epstein was raised in Frankfurt where his father was a professor. He received his PhD in 1895 from the University of Strasbourg. From 1895 to 1918 he was a Privatdozent at the University in Strasbourg, which at that time was part of the German Empire. At the end of World War I the city of Strasbourg reverted to France, and Epstein, being German, had to return to Frankfurt.

Epstein was appointed to a non-tenured post at the university and he lectured in Frankfurt from 1919. Later he was appointed professor at Frankfurt. However, after the Nazis came to power in Germany he lost his university position. Because of his age he was unable to find a new position abroad, and finally committed suicide by abusing barbital, fearing Gestapo torture.
